The accumulated FDI in Malaysia jumped to RM769.6 billion, while DIA position increased to RM543.9 billion
As at end of Q3 2021, Malaysia’s IIP continued to record net assets of RM68.1 billion (Q2 2021: RM112.6 billion). Both total financial assets and liabilities increased to RM2,063.2 billion and RM1,995.1 billion respectively.
Direct Investment Abroad (DIA) position recorded a higher value of RM543.9 billion, mainly contributed by Financial activities, Mining and Agriculture sectors. Meanwhile, Singapore, Indonesia and the Cayman Islands were the top destinations for DIA position.
Concurrently, the accumulated Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Malaysia increased to RM769.6 billion mainly driven by Manufacturing sector and Financial activities. Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan remained as the top FDI countries.
