International Investment Position (IIP), Fourth Quarter 2020

As at end of Q4 2020, Malaysia’s International Investment Position (IIP) recorded a lower net assets of RM79.6 billion as against RM82.5 billion in previous quarter, of which total assets increased to RM1,919.3 billion while total liabilities was RM1,839.6 billion.


Direct Investment Abroad (DIA) position registered RM518.9 billion, mainly in Financial activities, Mining and Agriculture sectors. The top DIA destinations were Singapore, Indonesia and United Kingdom.


Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) position in Malaysia recorded a higher value of RM703.5 billion largely contributed by Manufacturing, Financial and Mining sectors. Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan remained as the top FDI countries.
